What is behavioral health?

Behavioral health encompasses mental health and addictions of any type.

Mental health is defined as a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community. —Mental Health Definition from the World Health Organization (August 2014)

You may notice this definition is all about bringing positive thoughts, feelings, emotions, and actions to a person’s life.  People who have mental health  and/or addictions issues, in most cases, have the ability to achieve a life that is enriching and full of joy.  My goal is to help you achieve this state of well-being through therapy that opens the world up to you.
